Book Launch by Genie Henderson

“A Day Like Any Other”

Friday, September 21, 2018

5 – 7 p.m.

Please join us on the 80th anniversary of the Great Hurricane of 1938, also known as “The Long Island Express” at the launch of Genie Henderson’s new novel, “A Day Like Any Other” (Pushcart Press). A fictional retelling of that very real storm and how it affected the South Fork of Long Island, is set in East Hampton with key characters living on Atlantic Avenue across the road from the historical Amagansett U.S. Life-Saving Station.

Archival film of this extraordinary storm will be shown, plus Henderson will be reading from the novel. Copies will be available for purchase.

Event is free and open to the public.
