- May 4 | 6 p.m. Opening Day Guest Speaker Tim Dring, Commander, U.S. Naval Reserve Ret. will give a talk about German U-boats during World War II. “The Enemy Lurking Offshore: The World War II U-Boat Offensive Along the U.S. East Coast” Commander Dring will focus primarily on the early period immediately following the U.S. declaration of war against Germany (1942-43) when the U.S. was most vulnerable and most affected by German U-boat attacks on American coastal shipping. He will describe the types of German submarines used, their weapons, and the development of American countermeasures. The talk will be 45 minutes long, with 15 minutes at the end for Q&A.
- May 18 | International Water Safety Day – We are joining forces with the Hampton Life Guard Association to spread awareness of the importance of water safety. From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., individuals and families may join us for interactive activities, arts and crafts, water rescue demonstrations, drone launches, refreshments, and prizes.
- June 15 | Saboteurs 2024 – 6 p.m. Commemorating the intrigue of the event, the Amagansett Life-Saving Station invites you to an evening of film, re-enactment, and speculation on what really took place. CLICK FOR INFORMATION

Bill Bleyer in conversation with Stacy Myers. Q&A to follow. For more than five centuries, the waterways surrounding Long Island have profoundly shaped its history. Historian, author, and former journalist Bill Bleyer draws from his book, Long Island and the Sea, to explore our nautical bonds from the Native Americans to current efforts to preserve the region’s maritime heritage.
Presented by the East Hampton Historical Society and the Amagansett Life-Saving Station Museum.

Please join us to celebrate maritime history at the East Hampton Town Marine Museum and the Amagansett Life-Saving Station Museum. Both museums will be free of charge, and there will be guided and self-guided tour opportunities. No advance registration is required.
